gorillaz - dirty harry

previously this was only available as a rather ebay-some 10" before the album came out. even then when i found a file on the web i knew that it was going to be a storming norman of a track - that kidchoir chorus cannot fail. anyway, with the a-side hammering the playlists - what about the extras that are available. normal 2 track cd single has a live version of 'all lone' but doesn't really add much more other than it being a lot more upfront than the album version and pushes forward the dub styled bass line, with roots manuva and martina topley bird both sounding spot on throughout.

the full cd single has 2 extras, the reggae heavy and rather strange 'hongkongaton' which features damons phoned in vocals and a jaunty piano riff and is rather excellent but would not have fit on the album, and to finish off, there is the chopper remix of 'dirty harry', which isn't anywhere near as radical as the dfa remix of the previous 'dare' single, but extends on the use of the kidchoir and has a mighty funked up rock groove underneath booties vocals, which should make this an indie rock dancefloor killer.

the dvd single has the video which is as chucklesome and thought provoking with the war based theme and some extras ('murdoc is god'), but as yet i haven't been in charge of the dvd player @ ireallylovemusic hq.
