6 track instrumental album. not an easy ride.

fuke - a quiet opening. single chord riff with piano/guitar .. builds up and crashes to a serene calm, which leads into 'arasi'. strange rhythmic noises. controlled feedback. unsettling.whitenoise matched against real world clunks and bass drones. noises that echo round the stereo spectrum are added - unnerving. not a track to love. 'morte saison' - downtempo, bassline to the fore against a scratching noise and echoy natural effects .. atmoshpere over melody. over 11 minutes .. eeek. 5 mins and the track looses all presence apart from wind/bass drone noises .. giving sense of impending doom/climax ? more layers of guitar noises (not melody lines as such - just noise), from the chaos a form of melody does peek out of the darkness. relief next in the lovely melodic 'brune' only problem is it's too short at less than 3 minutes. next is the album's highlight.

'head' with its low beat drums. guitar noise/feedback, and a human voice. sounding like old foetus/sonic youth experiments. a simple drum pattern enters - like a clash between dance and experimental noise. making the track far more interesting.

perfect to scare the dayglo technokids on a saturday night.

layers of guitars are added creating an excellent collision. album highlight .. the final track is an ambient 12 minute piece. pleasant enough, and brings the album to a quiet end.

a strange beast of an album. in parts excellent, and hard work in others .. but give me a challenge over mediocrity anyday.
