this is just a cracking set of 60's soul classics, funked up rock-n-roll, piano honky-tonk blues, and even a little pop nugget here and there. some of the tracks are well known, 'mockingbird' by inez foxx and charlie foxx, you will definitely know, others less so, but for 70 minutes this compilation will become your best friend you never knew you had. i mean can anyone cut the funk like ike in 'the new breed' (worhty of entry price alone), or do the full on rip those vocal chords soul like his hard living sidekick tina turner, or does anyone sound quite a similar to ray charles as the wonderfully named 'prince la la'. perhaps not, but, this is still a fine fine compilation that will have you checking the track list on a regular basis.
