kinda missed april didn't we .. oh well

king of woolworths - evelsong

the only record to buy in bulk. this is ace.

i realise this may sound like favouritism.

f*ck it - it is.

the whole poptastic overload of the piano lead instrumental backing, the swoonsome vocal interplay from pete ingo and cimicima make this my fave over the top pop record in a long long time. laid back/romantic/swoonsome electropop with a heartfelt desire to hang out in the cool clubs.

tis a thing of superior splendour.

get the cd version ("radio edit - slightly different to lp version" c. nerdfacts.com) as there is "kitchen sink drama" another collaboration between the king and pete ingo. once again using a track off the album and then twisting a bit more into a whole new shape with vocals and proper songlike structures. quality street.

but, then comes the special bit .. moshi moshi label mate matt harding has 'remixed' evelsong. matt has used his signature style and made evelsong a completely different style - matts stripped the original of all its studio sheen that the king excels in and made the track far more realtime. it still grooves and it still moves me in strange ways that i cant describe. matt has done a damn fine job which is far more interesting than just a basic big name dance remix that would be too easy ..

right i have gone on too long. just listen to this and fall in love.

then - buy the record.

staind - price to play

hard rock. very hard. massive bassdriven guitars. soundgarden memories are invoked. and with audioslave becoming the worlds most impressive supergroup then this will enthrall the same audience - rightly so.

a damn fine track. if the album '14 shades of grey' is all on a par with this then it should knock up some serious stats.
