bowling for soup - punk rock 101
yuck. preordained mtv nu-era punk. not fun. too contrived, obvious, while not overly offensive it does nothing new or fresh. lump along with good charlottes, sum41 et al. when will folks realise that this is as made to order as gareth gates ? oh well ..
mower - the morning after
released 21st july on transcopic, from the album 'people are cruel' this is an excellent uptgempo spiky guitar pop song, with lead vocals (matt motte) that invoked memories of that petrol emotion's steve mack .. no bad thing in my book.
once the chorus hits with its extra thick guitar layers, kept under control by stephen street as if to show that street hasn't gone completely off guitars or soft, you just know that this is going to move the spines and beers of many a gig goer over the coming months.
cracking stuff.
