various artists - construction time again

a couple of years ago, future star making label, something in construction, released a fine little compilation, appetite for construction. memory seems to be playing tricks on me that the label gave this away as a downloadable freebie that gave an indication as to the past, present, and (then) future of the label.

now, as the good people at sic, have recently announced that they are to stop doing the single release thing, then this is a fine way to catch up with the bands new hopes. of which across the 11 tracks, there are plenty. first up is the brmc styled fuzz rock-n-roll by blackstrapp kicking off proceedings in fine style, after which we are treated to new stuff ffrom the delicate and rather lovely the silent league, a rare and chunky little css remix of heartstopping the city the airport by loney dear who are now all major labelled up thanks to sic, the 7″ only stomper, homewrecker, by the best noise-n-funk monster damn arms, etc etc.

in fact this is a cracking set of disparate tunes and beats proving that the man in charge of the construction site is both inspired and dedicated to the cause of non-mundane music. he obviously has a passion for bands that make beautiful timeless music, along side signing bands that will scare your parents when you drop the needle in the record (hello other passengers).

i urge you to do the honourable thing and track this down so you know who to be on the lookout for over the forthcoming festival season.
