label samplers are a wonderfully strange beast of the music world. sometimes they instigate a whole new genre, (mowax's headz being a perfect example), whereas others they just state a simple case of 'here we are - we got some good stuff, so take a listen'. this lovely 10 tracker is definitely in the form of the latter. the range of sounds on offer is rather extreme. from radio friendly hip hop, in the guise of hero to be akira the don, to classic cinematic pop perfection from the silent league, via some scary singer-songwriter weirdness by lazarus and some downright noisy aus based alt.rock, damn arms
but all this matters not, as this sampler according to my sources, is free, which, considering many of these tracks were only available on limited 7", or are brand spanking new and unheard before, is pretty rather lovely
apparently this will be online from the beginning of june 2006.
so you have no excuse.
