u2 - achtung baby, zooropa,pop, all that you cant leave behind
post achtung-u2, is my bag. the sonic experimentation became far more adventurous and therefore appealed more to me than the standard fare they churned out before. of the above set i cant decide which i like best. achtung for the full on passion and strangeness, the fly simply knocked me over - i literally couldn't believe it was u2, zooropa for the sublime haunting electro backing, and superb live show, pop for the extremeness of mofo, or the new one which seems to be shying away from the aural delights and has been seen to be a back-to-basics approach, but still with an under lying edge of heartfelt emotion. many have deserted their recent efforts. but for such a mainstream band to veer into this kind of territory (example - dance beats !) was a risk well worth taking.
