terris - learning to let go
when this was released last year i tried it out on virgin stores headphones .. to say i was relieved when i removed the headphones would be an understatement, but the press were mainly favourable of it so when i recently saw promo going cheap i got it. after several listens the majesty that the journalists had heard came through. the music is loud and brash and the singing miles from the pleasant indie singing that constitutes most guitar bands at present. the vocals are gruff/insistant/upfront and an aquired taste. production is by gils norton - pixies - this is a good indicator for the style/sound.
terris are the anti-coldplay and all the better for that. given time this could well become a serious top playlister when i need the metal cobwebs cleared out.
(no doubt they've been dropped !)
