they are back. held in cryogenic suspension for 11 odd years - melted down to catch up on new technology/language (net speak is very dominant on this). absorbed and spat out with a vengance. this is a stunning release and provides a real kick up the arse for new bands - if it ever gets the chance !

now the music. the sound is amazing - i love the william orbit sqidgy

trance style production to a lot of the tracks, they have really

spent time on the feel of the production. martin degvilles voice has really

improved - along with the actual songs . i love the concept feel of

it where all the lyrics/titles/imagery relates to the net (wasn't too

sure when i read the tracklisting - but now i'm really into it !)

yes the sound is different but somehow still retains that sss feel

which is essential - a natural progression which given the time delay

from 'Excess' to this is amazing .. the guys really have talent !

track by track :

1. "welcome 2 the 21st century" :

underworld meets duane eddy - trance and twang never sounded this

good, a really impressive introduction to the next hour ..

2. "everybody loves u" :

reminds me of devo - too catchy by far :-)

3. "slave trade" (extended): full-on techno rock, pumpin bass with

max overload of dub effects/guitars. this is the highlight for me

4. "alien@tion" : strings over the top of amazingly crunchy guitars -

great proper song - with cool atmosphere

5. "cyberthieff":

thumpin' bassline with samples galore

6. "up 4 it!" :

scrathed rythmn .. wow - reminds me of old style tackhead with

mechanical cut-up voiceovers - superb and quite a difference for sss

7. "x-ray eyez" - jungle-lite - gets better with more listens

8. "spaaced out" - growing on me very dark sounding ..

9. "demon seed" (sputnix advocate extended mix):

glitter-band stomp (real dual drummerz sounds !) with more of the

sput-guitars - another highlght for me ..

(note anyone like this should listen to earl brutus who also mix

glitterband stomp with modern guitars/noise samples)

10 "what do you dream of little caesar?" :

dunno yet !

11 "alien christ" :

blade runner sax/trumpet which i love and another excellent proper

song.

12 "zero zero (anarchy.com)":

'out with the old ...' - a superb finish to the album
