mark hollis was the voice of 'talk talk' - a band who apart from one top single i have had no exposure to but have read many great things, anyway when this lp was released the press couldn't contain themselves, but due to the reclusive nature of mark hollis very little promotion was done - subsequently this cd is almost impossible to get a hold of now.. so when i saw it lying low in the bins i decided to see what all the fuss was about ..
and .. its very very laid back/quiet stuff. almost ambient, the songs are fragile acoustic instrumentation. with marks hushed voice back in the mix. the songs are exposed and full of emotion, definitely an excellent hangover disc
