the house of love - days run away
now freed of the intense media frenzy that swept up the original appearance of guy chadwick and terry bickers in the late 80's which left them shell shocked and rather damaged in the process. now many years after they parted company on rather bloody terms, the lads have managed to survive personal issues, financial ruin, and find their respective ways back to one another, bury the pain, and try to establish if they can recreate the magic once again.
and you know what .. they bloody well do.
it fills me with immense joy to report that i love this album. it's not all perfect of course, there are a couple of stodgy plodalongs .. but when guy and terry get the interaction of heavenly melodies, terry's uplifting guitar lines and guys vocals then there is nothing better - classic indie guitar pop in a time freeze.
so is this 35 minutes of revival sadness which should have never got past the 'few beers down the pub' stage ? nah. this is well deserved justice for all, and should hopefully keep fans of the bands previous classics very happy.
