death in vegas - the contino sessions
billed as a dance album this is way off the mark, its rock all the way through, blistering, dark, evil sexy rock. yes the beats are definitely hip-hop based, but the bass/guitar are straight from the gutter. several tracks are instrumental, but there are guest vocals from dot allison (from one dove), iggy pop, bobby gillespie, jim reid. these tracks are the highlights, but the rest are superb bliss whiteout rock, in the same vein as spiritualised but without the 100 piece orchestra.
this release is stunning, a wonderful trip to the darkside.
