starting off as a typical riffed up bluesy garage band my heart sinks as i cry out 'haven't we enough of this going on ?', but then things become a lot more interesting after a minute of drawn out guitar lines, frenetic drums and gutsy vocals as the guitars are suddenly ramped up and fuzzed to the max. oh yes - i am a sucker for the fuzz and this is a mighty fine noise. definite bed fellows to my other roots and fuzz rockers 'earth the Californian love dream', and i have declared my opinions on them many times elsewhere.
the other songs on this debut single are not as insistent, but have a lot of influence from dirty heavy rock-n-roll. with an obvious influence on the live and direct aspect, as shown on the live 'the wire' track.
a little more spit and polish and the lot could really set some stereos alight.
