mark stewart : learning to cope with cowardice,metatron,control data
i realise that mark s is a hero to the on-u fans - but its doesn't hold this particular listener. the earliest release (learning ..) has some great stuff on it, and the original cd version includes a version of a classic track where mark s shouts'you're all bastards' with pure anger/vitriol amongst and flury of white noise distortion (this track has actually destroyed speakers in leeds - fact !). metatron came out on mute and was given a lot of press attention, this is more of a rock band pushed through distortion effects - backing band were 'the mafia' but basically the same as tackhead, very little dub content. control data again has the usual suspects for the music but apart from the odd track really does not sit well for me .. the voice just grates too much, but every now and then i gotta hear his pain ! these are more for historical research as opposed to enjoyment for me J
