one self - paranoid - 12" ep

a nice set of remixes where album track 'paranoid' is stripped down and scratched to f*ck for the new 12", lovely. then next the band have dropped the straight ahead version of the one of my faves from the album, 'overexpose', which will hopefully mAKE anyone still undecided, Rush out and get the full set of tunes, despite the sun no longer being quite as powerful as this kind of laid back soul-funk-hiphop DEMAnds. the track is all about the hammond organ in the background, melt it. next, there is an ep exclusive, 'come along', with the trademark scratchy drum loop, blu rums smoky drawl (gotta love that voice) holding its own amongst the slice of nice, while a soundtrack of the 70's reverbed electric piano makes the ambience even more smooth.

even if you have the album, this new extra is totally worthy of your pocket money, but to make matters even more irresistible, there is a j star remix of paranoid where the old school reggae dub quota is maxxed out for that full on psycho-skank effect, did anyone tell you that spaced out echo freaky remixes are where its at ?

a totally fantastic remix, just go and buy this, store it for next spring when it can rip your stereo system apart.
