matt harding - tomorrow (moshicd02)

of all the moshi releases i have heard this is the most accessible by far. in the main this is an instrumental cd.
there is a groove that perpetuates through each track .. dare one say a baggy groove.
in fact most of the tracks follow a certain pattern .. get the beat up and going - nothing too fast, add a funky bassline .. then add some beautifully delicate guitar lines over the top, synths/electronic extras are added for texture. sometimes there is a bit of a song/lyrics .. but never intrusive to the overall calm, warm melodious feel.
in fact on some tracks i could swear i can hear bobby gillespies tamborine being revived from some long lost 'come together' sessions, in several places that screamadelica mellow vibe is revived to glorious effect.

to this listener this is not a complaint

a perfect antidote to the glut of tacky generic trance chillout compilations.
