the drowners - muted to a whisper
the opening track 'lupinne' is very misleading.
orchestral overly grand piano gothic pop music a la depeche mode ..hmmm
but then getting into the rest of the lp it becomes clear that this lot have studied alternative guitar pop music in all its forms.
well produced, well constructed and highly enjoyable. the closest comparison i can come to is the soulwax release.
most songs are uptempo, bassline driven and adrenalin pumpers especially with 'on the radio' which never will be on the radio due to its well placed naughty word, and 'permanent five' with its central nervous system destroying guitar/bassline.
many tracks follow the powerpop rules to the letter and would be very well placed in next summers teenager blockbuster soundtrack.
at the end of the lp is a throwaway fun cover of 'while my guitar gently weeps' which is done in a college guitar rock style.
very listenable.
