the go! team - the power is on

more mad lo-fi sample overload from memphis industries off the wall go! team crews' second single.

with horns/guitars/pianos all smashed together into another 3 minute intense pop fix you cant help but wonder how these tracks are formed, is it a live band going nuts in someones living room, or a mashup of samples on a amiga1200? the sheer messiness of the production is both exhilarating and baffling in that its impossible to tell what is what at times. a new updated version of phil spectors' "wall of sound" that is as addictive and possibly as dangerous.

'hold yr terror close' is a simple piano song sung in a school hall during lunchbreak when no-one is checking where the back row dossers are skiving off to, and to finish the package off there is an school b-side that rips apart philip glass single chord repetition 'the ice storm' with its full more phil spector mono-ness.

you just know that the bands forthcoming album is going to be a riot of colour and fun.
