fort lauderdale - the chilling place

new 3 track single from this ever increasingly challenging setup.

i understand that the core members of the band, toby jenkins and steven webster, have been joined by one nathanial blonde, in order to add vocal talents to one of the most heart warming tracks i have heard in a long time.

the instrumental backing has 1973 epic glam aspects, with mad ott guitars, stirring string sections and a honking sax. according to the pr this is currently the best selling single on mars, which is weird, as it reminds me of a band of spiders which came from said planet and met up with david bowie. it's that good. having heard the song 3 times on the morning of receiving it, the song then featured heavily in the following nights dreams. meaning i woke up with a huge grin on my face.

so there you have it - a perfect soundtrack to anyones night time adventures.

the other tracks are as ever completely different. 'shes in a bloom' is a very velvet underground (in tuneful mode) type of track and very pleasant. whereas the last track is apparently a cover version of 'incantation' by bruce haak (nope, me neither ..), apparently the original is a top fave track of steve's, so who are we to argue. a strange electro ditty with a vocal part that sounds to have been lifted from an old fun boy three release. not completely inspiring .. but given the overall nature of the ep it will no doubt get plenty of airplay and become a firm fave.
