estuary english, music from memphis industries vol 1.
an interesting roundup from all encompassing london label.
my interest was invoked by recent addition of j. xaverre to the labels roster. the range of sounds is strangley compelling,. as many of these tracks are unavailable or were previously on vinyl only this is a great way to find out if this strange widescope lo-fi floats your boat.
on initial listening, it floats mine.
i love the ramshackle sampledelic of the go! team which stretches the 4 track recording ethos to the max, the sweet tunes of j. xaverre, and the spring sunset melodies from the psychepop of squire of somerton to the chilled out excellence of broadway project which takes the term trip-hop and twists it into a whole new shape, while the old school electro version of carly simons you're so vain by the black neon has to be heard to be fully appreciated.
highlights are many and will be a great addition to anybody interesting in hearing something fresh.
