a room full of tuneful (melo 010cd)

12 track roundup of the melodic label to date. beautifully packaged, luring the listener into the world of david lynch-esque soundscapes and broken chorus's. the tracks range from laid back ambient soundscapes to laptop experiments, and back again via guitar led loneliness.

always original, sometimes breathtaking, no wonder they recently teamed up with moshi moshi for a night of celebration (pedro tracks is featured on both labels), as each label has a unique spin on the creation of music, there is an obvious desire for the music to be personal, warm, inviting, as opposed to pure financial goal oriantated.

i cannot emphasis how much this compilation should be heard by anyone interested in how music can be made on low budgets and yet still be far more interesting sonically than the latest big budget dr dre style production. highlights are many, but tex la homa always stops me in my tracks and makes me glow inwardly, chessie grooves pleasantly, the list goes on, in fact there is not 1 bad track. fact.
