having reissued the labels classic 70's releases frontline have now secured licensing deals with the Jamaican label sonic sounds - forthcoming compilations include yellowman, frankie paul, and a whole range of well known names to anyone who has looked in the bulging reggae racks recently. whilst a lot of 80's reggae lost the political bite and musical depth of its 70's partner, there are still some excellent tracks spread across these compilations. from the sexual teasing of yellowman, the smooth lovers grooves of frankie paul, the wonderful classic 'police and thief' by junior mervin, basically, you are bound to find something to smooth out the tensions in a heatwave.
