new label start things off with free compilation of leeds finest available via the label website.
tracks include mighty noises from ireallylovemusic faves such as the scaramanga six, being747 and napoleon iii, but the rest is new to me. still the spread of styles proves that there is a thriving scene in my old home town, making me somewhat homesick.
as is to be expected the 18 tracks featured involve lots of classic styled indienoise rock with fine stuff from this et al (to be featured on the labels proper debut release), the sunshine underground, and others. obviously several bands have applied a funked up punk stylings to their groove as recent high profile success stories have influenced lots of these new young upstarts. note that this is not a complaint. the raw sounds, dance friendly bass lines ( check the excellent 'o fracas' and the terminals) makes for a seriously impressive set of tracks.
