lo_tempo tour 2003 press release
deep-water recordings are proud to announce their first national tour. leicesters leading downtempo/electronica label will be leaving the safety of their studio to multiply the media at selected venues across the country armed with some computers, lots of nice things to look at, half an orchestra and the worlds first digital vibraphone.
normal position will be showcasing tracks from their forthcoming rave killed the romance long-player. these hotly tipped glitched-out melody-mongers of the future are described by ministry magazine as "lunatic oddball weirdness of the first order, very imaginative". their captivating performance at last years big chill enchanted garden festival was a mere taster of whats in store this year as normal position get the band back together one last time.
bathysphere will be lap-dancing live. equipped with three laptop computers, a video projector and not much else as they bare all musically in stripped-down performances of their horizontal musical electronica. expect to hear digitally re-mustered renditions of tunes from the internationally acclaimed deep-water recordings imprint alongside some specially created new work. these special lap-dancing performances will be assisted by live moving wallpaper and four pole filters.
vjs, djs and a supporting multimedia rabble will be playing music from the cutting edge of down and out beat electronica and displaying live moving image throughout the night.
deep-water recordings is a downtempo/electronica label run by leicesters bathysphere multimedia production house. it was set up with money from the national lottery to help emerging electronic music artists develop their careers. from its first vinyl release in 2001, deep-water has grown from strength to strength to become a successful and internationally recognised record label. recent hits include hints radio 1 john peel session and signing to the ninja tunes imprint, monkeymagics single of the month in ministry magazine and appearance europes biggest snowboarding event and sofalofas pickled think ep which sold out within its first week of release. plans for 2003 include the lo_tempo national tour, the first deep-water long players and a series of specially commissioned short films.
