post screamadelica classic. pop dub-lite beats produced by andrew weatherall/sabres of paradise, combined with dot allisons breathy vocals this is a postclubbing masterpiece that can be indulged at any time of the day.
several tracks appear twice in a combination of mixes - radio pop mixes and spaced out dub mixes, showing the problem the band had. were they a classic pop band (single 'why dont you take me' being the height of the pop style) or a cool ambient dub band who could mix with the orb?
well to this listener they combined the best of both worlds.
shame no-one else was interested.
but dot allison did reappear several years later and grace us with her presence for her own excellent solo career.
