kylie - showgirl - the dvd
this new dvd features the full 2 hour show from earlier this year, having watched this recently (having expected to give up after 30 minutes due to boredom), i came to realise that i missed out on possibly one of the best pop shows in recent times.
earlier in the year, i purchased tix for glastonbury 2005, and if i'm totally honest, one of the main reasons was due to the hope that kylie was to do her thing in the field of mud. but as we all now know, this was not to be. so, rejoice in the fact, that instead you can enjoy the full spectacular in your own living room (with the volume turned up to max). the show is without a doubt fantastic, set pieces, entertaining choreography, excellent revised live renditions of the classics, and proof that kylie has a voice that is far far stronger than many believe.
there are sections of the show that will have you singing along in joyful abandon, and then there are parts where holding back the tears is not that easy.
a true star of the modern pop world.

Also - the fantastic highlight, 'somewhere over the rainbow' is to be released over xmas as a download only track.
