my computer - vulnerabilia
a strange beast this. all the noises are made by a duo who have a lot of studio toys. one of whom used to be involved in one lady owner. this is nothing, and i mean nothing, like that noisy lot. which is a shame in some ways as i thought that lp was toppermost.
instead this is a melting pot of programmed beats, sublime bassline and vocoderised/treated vocals backed by synths. though real instruments do appear and give the lp a real aspect as opposed to a pure electronica feel. the real highlight are the songs themselves. delicate, warm and downright sleazy .. all at the same time.
one listen will not reveal the wonders. in fact you will have to force second and third listens. but stick with this and the rewards are plentiful. long epic songs spin out with many tracks clocking in at over 6 mins.
there is a consistent flow in the sonic textures, making this a complete album rather than a collection of songs just lumped together.
far more interesting than my computer.
which is a good thing.
obviously.
